I'm not completely back online, but a new friend has been kind enough to let me use Internet for a bit. One story I didn't have time to tell before leaving T-town...
Most of you know that I'm kind of crazy anyway, but if you needed further proof, the day before I left, there was a strong winter storm in the Midwest. We were hit with slush, then ice, then snow. It was impressive (luckily it ended and the roads were clear the next morning). Of course, I could have just stayed in and avoided it, but in my last minute preparations for leaving, I needed to get to Weber Jewelry to get another piercing in my right ear. I'd forgotten it for weeks, and I was now down to one day. So being the strong-headed one that I am, in the middle of the sleet, I drove up to Weber Jewelry and got the single piercing (bringing my right ear total to 3) I've been wanting for years (darn Disney for banning more than one piercing per ear...and with a 6 week healing period, it's kind of hard to hide new additions). Of course the lady at the store was admittedly baffled by my willingness to brave the storm for such a seemingly inane thing. I just told her I had to stop by the bank and post office too (which was true!). She asked where I lived, and I said just a few blocks away. I mean, I can drive for a few blocks in sleet...it's all good. I know she thought I was nuts, but that's ok...it had to be done.
So yes, forgetful me received an ear piercing in the middle of a huge winter storm, and I'm quite happy about it! Of course, now I'm sleeping nearly on the floor in my new place, and I have an ear that hurts. Leave it to me to add everything at once and make sleeping in a new place not only weird, but even a tad painful. (thank goodness I can sleep on any side)
For my post-Disney look, now I just need a pink stripe in my hair. I'm passing on the black hair for now. I think I'll do a few more light brown highlights...and one pink. I'll keep you posted if that happens. =)
