Ducks vs. Canucks

So the NHL playoffs have begun...and with both the Vancouver Canucks and the Anaheim Ducks in the running, it's pretty excting around here. I mean...I'm in Canada. In a city where the home team is in the hockey playoffs for the Stanley Cup. Sport flags on most of the cars, team logo banners on every bar (and there are tons of those), and daily updates from the Canadian super fan in my class. (4 Overtime periods for the Canucks in their first playoff game last night. They won!) Oh yes, and I'm a Mighty Ducks (I mean Anaheim Ducks) fan. Boy it's brutal when I wear my Ducks hockey jersey!

In all fairness, I would be happy with either team winning. And if the Canucks do make it to the Stanley cup and win...I'll take credit since the Tampa Bay Lightning won the cup while I lived in Florida. But until it's all played out...I'm cheering for the Ducks!

And just to prove the fanaticism here...I was riding my bike home last night, and stopped at a red light. Before leaving school, I knew the game was still going, and from somewhere in the night...I heard cheering. But I kid you not...I couldn't for the life of me see where the bar was that was hosting the game. I'm at a 4-way intersection in a business area for crying out loud..I should have seen this place! Wow...those Canadians love to cheer for their team! Guess I've got my work cut out for me....
