I think I've mentioned my program director Bob (Robert) Grieve who worked on the sound for movies like "Pretty in Pink" and "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves". Well, on Friday we had a Hearing Safety test with Bob, and being my birthday the next day...I brought in cake for my class. I mean, you can never have enough cake. So after our study session in the morning, we tore into it, but there were leftovers.
During a break in class where Bob was reviewing one of our projects, we decided to have more cake. And we invited Bob. I kid you not, he came into the break room with this big grin, and I said "Dig in!". The cake was chocolate with vanilla funfetti icing. Bob said "Oooh...I'm a total icing fiend!", and then proceeded to cut a large piece of cake followed by scraping the side of the pan for excess icing! I started to laugh and he said, "You thought I was kidding, didn't you?". Yes, Bob, yes I did. He also pulled some icing off the table another student had dropped...and all I could think of was Tantor in "Tarzan". "Are you sure this table's sanitary? It looks questionable to me!" But I guess you can't stop an icing fiend. Hey...maybe he can get me a great movie sound gig some day. I mean, I can make as many cakes as he likes!
