Ka-Boom!

Whoo! I just finished recording fireworks!! Many of you know how much I love my nighttime fireworks spectaculars! Vancouver has a summer Celebration of Light where several evenings showcase massive fireworks. I think it's supposed to be companies showing off their pyro products, but it is set to music and themed. But I don't see the connection yet. Tonight was "Spain" but they played a lot of scores by Hans Zimmer like "Armageddon" and "Backdraft". They also played "Star Wars" and "Hercules" (yup, Disney). Saturday is the next one and the theme is Canada, and they're playing swing music. go figure.

I actually didn't hear the music tonight because I was recording and I can't capture copyrighted things like music. So I just sat in the back of a park with my shotgun Mic (like you see in dvd behind-the-scenes extras), looking like I was radar gunning cars, and got a big bunch of BOOMS! But Saturday I'm going just for the music. I'll be "In the Mood" to "Sing, Sing, Sing" and yell "Go Daddy-O"!

(the picture is from the bridge I bike over. water and boats at the bottom and mountains in the distance...and yes, it's after 10pm at night and still the sun is setting!)
