Working & Moving

I know it's been forever since I've posted, but I have had a million things going on. (yes, literall a million ;) Anyway, I've moved, gotten a full time job, and am starting to work on freelance opportunities. It's nice to be a little more settled. I should also get some pictures up here just because blogs are more fun with photos. I haven't exactly been anywhere lately, but I have gotten this awesome new couch from the salvation army that I just LOVE! Soo...I'll work on that.

On the job front, it might be interesting to know that I've had a few since getting to the DC area. Some were temporary and some weren't quite right. The funny thing is, it just adds to the hundreds of jobs I've had throughout my life. You might think that the number of jobs I've had makes me look flighty, but really, most of them were temporary due to need (like school and such). I have never been fired. At any rate, here's some of what I've done (you may or may not be surprised)!

1. Baby-sitter
2. Mowed neighbors' lawn
3. House-sat for elderly
4. Worked at Dutch Treat (similar to Dairy Queen)
5. Worked for School district (setting up computers, teaching classes like typing & computer basics to students, faculty, elderly, and parents)
6. Traced drafting plans for cabinets
7. Sold construction supplies
8. Proofread phone book ads
9. Cleaned hotel rooms
10. Worked in school computer lab
11. Worked at Dairy Queen (ever so briefly)
12. Worked in Foods at Disney
13. Worked in Merchandise at Disney
14. Worked in Communications at Disney
15. Worked as a Press Rep for Disney
16. Freelance graphic design
17. Freelance as graphic op for AV company
18. Recorded voice work for internal news program at Disney
19. Waitressing
20. Worked ever so briefly at Pottery Barn
21. Worked at library / career center at Disney
22. AV work for company at Washington Hilton hotel
23. Worked a few days for the National Zoo which is owned by the Smithsonian
24. Worked at IKEA
25. Washington Animal Rescue League

And goodness knows there may be more that I've forgotten...

Reminded me of a few things I'd done that I'd forgotten.

Anxiously awaiting awesome couch pics.

I want a couch!! ~haha! Very exciting!! ... I guess I'll sort of be getting one in the next 2 weeks when I move in with my friend who has a very nice couch! My wish list really just consists of a bed at the moment ... Or - if I'm too cheap, I'll be sleeping Korean style (on the floor). Either way, I won't mind, but I'll probably be getting a bed so my friend can have a guest bed when I move out.

As for random jobs, I think us 3 girls definitely beat out the boys in numbers and, quite possibly, strangeness of jobs! I think my job list is just has long and crazy as yours. While much of the job switching for necessity can get old and/or annoying, I really like how eclectic we are ^.^ (there's a bright side to everything!!!) =)
