Name That Video Game Tune

So I had two Game Audio classes this week with a new teacher who's pretty cool. We've had some game audio already, but it involved things like computer programming. Now the classes are literally about video game audio. And, I kid you not, the classes this week were spent listening to such nostalgic items as Atari 2600 (Centipede, Asteroid) and the original Nintendo (Super Mario Bros., Final Fantasy, Metroid). Of course it also involved things like History (NES came out in 1985. Koji Kondo wrote the score to Super Mario Bros). But, It was SO weird to be listening to the sounds of my childhood...in an academic capacity! I'm not really sure how playing those video games as a kid is going to help me with this class just yet, but since most of the stuff was familiar, I'd say I had a childhood well spent in front of the gaming console!

Of course, when we get to newer games like "Halo" next week..I'll be completely lost. Luckily, if I really want to research it (more like have time to research it), I can check out various game systems from Xbox to Playstation 3 at my school. If only they'd get a Nintendo Wii...but they said they can't find one in the stores to buy!
