So, most of you are aware of my dislike for the sun. Well, clearly Vancouver is not. I thought it had it right when it rained for nearly the first 2 months I was here. But now...jeez, we're having the longest days I've ever experienced. I seriously woke up at 4:30am today thanks to the sun. Of course, I just looked up sunrise and sunset, and it says 5:14am, but I think Weather.com has it wrong. At any rate, average sunrise...5:14am...sunset...9:07pm. Compare that to Orlando at 6:28am / 8:18pm, and that's almost two extra hours of daylight. Of course, more sun, but still chilly...the days are starting to be warm enough, but I wake up freezing. I can't win...the dumb Sunshine State baked me, and this place won't let me sleep. I end up having to put an eye mask on when I wake up just to try for a few more hours of sleep. And nope, i can't close the blinds any more...the cats need to be able to get in the window to watch the birds, or they'll cause me more trouble than the sunlight.
Stupid latitude. Stupid physics.
